Baptism is the Outward Expression of Your Faith in Jesus.

A POWERFUL SYMBOL OF YOUR NEW LIFE IN CHRIST!

  • Christian baptism is the full immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It serves as a powerful representation of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Colossians 2:12

Baptism symbolizes your new life in Christ. It is an act of obedience, publicly declaring your faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior. Through baptism, believers express their death to sin, the burial of their old life, and their resurrection to walk in the newness of life with Jesus. It also reflects their hope in the final resurrection. Romans 6:3-5, Acts 8:35-39

Baptism does not bring salvation; faith in Christ alone does. It is an act of obedience that follows belief, not a requirement for salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9

A helpful way to understand baptism is through the example of a wedding ring. Wearing a ring does not make someone married; rather, it is an outward symbol of an inward commitment. In the same way, baptism does not save but serves as a public declaration of the transformation that has already taken place in a believer’s heart.

  • Baptism is for those who have placed their trust in the finished work of Christ. We believe that believers who have not yet publicly declared their faith through baptism by immersion should take this step of obedience in following Christ. Acts 2:41

  • Various denominations practice infant baptism and confirmation. While we recognize the value of parents dedicating their children to be raised under Christ’s authority within the local church, we believe that baptism is a personal step of faith taken after trusting in Christ for salvation. Some may have been baptized at a young age but later realize they had not yet truly placed their faith in Christ.

Scripture consistently teaches that baptism follows a personal decision to trust in Jesus and is done by immersion. It is not a ritual performed before faith, such as infant sprinkling or baptism without a true commitment to Christ. For this reason, we ask those seeking membership in our church to be baptized by immersion after placing their faith in Christ. Acts 2:41-42, Acts 8:35-39
